The Terrace: What to Expect

The outdoor terrace at Rossella Muswell Hill sits alongside the restaurant and deli on Muswell Hill Road, and it's become our favourite spot to spend a summer evening. There's something about eating outside that makes Italian food taste even better.

We serve the full menu out here — not a reduced terrace version, but the entire à la carte, dessert menu and Aperitivo Lounge selection. So whatever you're in the mood for, from a light antipasti starter to a bowl of handmade pasta and a glass of something from our family vineyard, it's all available under the open sky.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome on the terrace too, so there's no need to leave your four-legged companion at home. Just let us know when you book and we'll make sure there's space for all of you.

What to Order Outside

If we're recommending a summer terrace order, we'd start with the bruschetta or an antipasti selection — something light and shareable while you settle in. For mains, the fresh pasta dishes work beautifully in warmer weather; the pappardelle or a simple cacio e pepe have been favourites this summer.

For drinks, you're spoilt for choice. Our family vineyard wines are served by the glass and bottle, and the Aperitivo Lounge menu brings together a range of cocktails and Italian aperitivi that were practically made for an evening outside. The limoncello spritz has been a particular terrace hit.

Happy Hour on the Terrace

If you want to make the most of a long summer evening, come early. Our Happy Hour runs Monday to Thursday from 3pm to 6pm, with 2-for-1 on cocktails, wines and prosecco.

Starting your evening on the terrace with a Happy Hour drink before moving on to dinner is, we think, one of the better ways to spend a weekday evening in North London. Simple, relaxed and properly Italian.

Getting to Muswell Hill

Rossella Muswell Hill is at 107 Muswell Hill Road, N10 3HS, right next door to Everyman Cinema and a short walk from Highgate Wood. If you're coming by public transport, bus routes 43 and 134 stop right outside. If you're coming from further afield, the nearest tube is Highgate on the Northern Line — from there it's a 15-minute walk or a short bus ride on the 43.

Parking is available in the public car park behind Everyman Cinema, and there's also on-street parking on nearby roads with free parking after 1pm on Muswell Hill Road. Always worth checking the local signage.

Tables on the terrace are allocated on a first-come basis, but let us know when you book and we'll do our best to seat you outside.
